PROGRAM CODE 1071

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Mid-Florida Electrical Non-Union Apprenticeship, GNJ Program is a state subsidized, four-year program.  Apprentices in the electrical construction trade will be taught principles of electricity and magnetism, wiring, installation methods, community first aid, safety issues, electrical motor theory and control.  Apprentices receive extensive classroom and on-the-job training (OJT).
In most cases, a great deal of financial resources and energy are required to prepare for your career, but in a registered apprenticeship program, you are paid a progressively increased wage while you learn the occupation.  The curriculum provides knowledge and skills training in all aspects of electrical construction work in the residential, commercial, and industrial markets.  Apprentices are required to work a total of 8,000 hours of OJT and 792 class hours for successful completion of the program.  Classes are held at The Advanced Technology Center, 1770 Technology Boulevard, Daytona Beach, FL  32117 and OJT is scheduled at various places of employment.
